XRD

XRD, the native token of the Radix platform, is designed to fuel a scalable ecosystem for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. It operates on a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) model, ensuring network security and community governance. XRD serves multiple purposes, including staking to secure the network, paying transaction fees, and enabling users to access DeFi services within the Radix ecosystem .

Radix positions itself as a platform that can handle complex DeFi applications with high scalability, security, and composability. This is achieved through a unique multi-sharded architecture, distinguishing it from other blockchain platforms.

The tokenomics of XRD includes a maximum supply of 24 billion tokens, out of which half were allocated at the genesis of the Radius Public Network. The remaining XRD is minted annually as a reward for pledgers and validators.
