Reason for this visit

East Asia and North America (dominated by the United States) are home to the world‘s two largest cryptocurrency exchange markets, with the trading volume making up nearly half of that in the global crypto market. In contrast with many exchanges in East Asia, the crypto platforms in the US are more strictly regulated. In the meantime, Coinbase, the world’s top one cryptocurrency exchange, is based in the US. In an attempt to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the exchanges in the US, WikiBit survey team decides to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Colorado in the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange StarExchange as planned according to its regulatory address that 121 S. Cherry Street 131th Floor, Denver, Colorado.

The investigators came to 121 S. Cherry Street in Denver, the capital of Colorado, the US on September 26, 2023.

The survey personnel located a luxurious white apartment in a residential area without any information regarding companies and commercial events. There were plenty of low-rise buildings nearby, without any high-rise building. The investigation team wasnt allowed to enter the apartment following pressing the doorbell. According to the owner of the house, he had never heard of company StarExchange and any offices nearby.

Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that StarExchange doesnt have a presence at the location.

Conclusion

The survey team went to the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange StarExchange, but didnt find the company at its regulatory address. This suggests that the company may just register at the place without a physical business office. Therefore, investors should be cautious in choosing the exchange.
