AI Arena to Launch NRN Token on June 24 and Open Claiming

AI gaming platform AI Arena announced on X that it will launch the NRN token on June 24, 2024. The claim site will open at 15:00 (UTC+8), and the CEX listing will be at 16:00 (UTC+8) on the same day. Listing partners will be announced soon.

South Korean Crypto Exchange GDAC to Halt Trading on June 24 and Close on July 16

South Korean cryptocurrency exchange GDAC announced it will cease operations on July 16. Starting from 11:00 local time on June 24, cryptocurrency trading services on GDAC will no longer be available.

io.net announced that block rewards will soon be available. US Bankruptcy Court to Hold Next Hearing on FTX on June 25

According to a recent email shared by former PwC cryptocurrency head Henri Arslanian on X, PwC, the liquidator for FTX, updated the liquidation process. FTX or FTX International customers (Dotcom customers) can claim in the Bahamas or US proceedings. If the bankruptcy protection plan is approved, Dotcom customers are expected to receive between 119 to 143 cents per dollar claim. Customers who submitted proof of debt claims in the Bahamas will be asked if they wish to continue handling their claims there. Those who haven't submitted claims in the Bahamas can do so before the expected mid-August 2024 deadline. After court approval of the bankruptcy protection debtor reorganization plan, FTX will confirm dates and next steps in writing. The next US bankruptcy court hearing is scheduled for June 25, 2024.

EU Regulator Sees MEV as Market Abuse; Consultation Feedback Deadline on June 25

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) proposed that Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) constitutes illegal market abuse under the MiCA regulatory technical standards. The draft also suggests collaborative enforcement, urging cooperation among authorities within and outside the EU in sanctioning market abuses. The feedback deadline is June 25, with the final standards expected to significantly impact the EU crypto regulatory environment.

Blast: Airdrop to Launch on June 26

Ethereum Layer 2 network Blast announced that its airdrop will start on June 26, delayed from the initially expected May date. To compensate for the delay, the airdrop allocation will be increased. Blast reminds dApps that all Gold and Points must be allocated to users by June 25, 20:00 to be included in the airdrop.

Solana ecosystem financial tools provider PsyFi reminded users to withdraw assets from all PsyFi products (PsyVault and PsyLend) by June 30 to avoid potential issues. Previously, PsyFi announced on June 11 that all products entered withdrawal-only mode due to the Pyth oracle upgrade.

EU MiCA Regulatory Deadline on June 30

MiCA, approved by the European Parliament in April 2023, imposes higher regulatory requirements on stablecoin issuance, operation, and compliance within the EU. The upcoming deadline requires crypto-asset service providers and other entities to comply with certain MiCA provisions, including registration and KYC/AML requirements. Non-compliant entities may face fines and operational bans within the EU. Some requirements for stablecoin issuers, including mandatory registration, will affect their global operations and compliance strategies.
