Reason for the visit

Recently, some investors asked for more exposures of the cryptocurrency dealers in Taiwan, China. The regulatory authorities of Taiwan has not drafted or passed any formal orders on blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, but has formed the Taiwan Crypto Blockchain Self-Regulatory Organization (TCBSRO) and developed industry standards and practices.

In order to help investors get a more comprehensive understanding of cryptocurrency dealers in the region, the survey team went to Taiwan for site-visits.

About this session of field survey

This session of Field Survey will go to Taiwan,to visit the cryptocurrency dealer Bitfinex, whose public business address is: Level-17, No. 266, Sec. 1, Wenhua Rd., Banqiao Dist., New Taipei City.

The team arrived at No. 266, Wenhua Rd., New Taipei City. The building is named “Tian Ming Wen Hua Business Building”, and it is a medium-sized office building.

The team entered the lobby and found that the 17F is presented with the company name iFiNEX on the floor directory of the building.

Afterwards, the team went to the 17th floor and found the office of iFiNEX. What is puzzling is that the name displayed on the company's official website is Bitfinex. Regarding this issue, the team consulted the staff of the company. Unfortunately, the team haven’t got an answer yet.

Conclusion

The survey team went to visit Bitfinex, a cryptocurrency trader in Taiwan,and found that it was a company called iFiNEX on its official business address. As for whether the two companies are the same company, the team haven’t got an answer yet. That is all for this session of Field Survey.
