Binance's New CEO: Team Successfully Freezes $4.2 Million XRP from Stolen Funds of Ripple Co-Founder

Binance's newly appointed CEO, Richard Teng, stated on the X platform that Chris Larsen, the co-founder of Ripple, had his personal account compromised, resulting in the theft of 213 million XRP. The Binance team has successfully frozen XRP worth $4.2 million. Binance will continue to support the ongoing investigation and make efforts to assist in recovering the funds, including closely monitoring the remaining funds in the attackers' external wallets to prevent deposits into Binance.

On January 31st, in response to ZachXBT's disclosure of the Ripple hack, Chris Larsen, co-founder of Ripple, posted on the X platform, mentioning that Ripple quickly identified the issue and informed exchanges to freeze the affected addresses. Law enforcement is currently involved. Additionally, Chris Larsen revealed that his personal XRP account (not affiliated with Ripple) was also unauthorizedly accessed the day before.
