[About the Merge] - The Merge refers to the merging of PoW Ethereum network and PoS Beacon network. After the Merge, the Ethereum network will turn into PoS chain. - [Detailed Information on the Merge] Upbit supports Bellatrix consensus upgrade scheduled on 6th Sep. But this upgrade does not affect deposit and withdrawal service. [Ethereum Network Upgrade Schedule] - Bellatrix Upgrade : Beacon chain epoch 144,896 - Paris Upgrade : [Ethereum total difficulty 58750000000000000000000 ] - Shanghai Upgrade : To be announced separately All timelines are based on estimation, subject to change. [Ethereum PoW Hardfork] - There are discussions around Ethereum hardfork from the communities against the Merge upgrade. If hardfork happens, there could be new blockchain using PoW consensus algorithm separated from current blockchain. - Successful PoW hardfork would generate a new digital asset from current PoS Ethereum - Even if the hardfork is unsuccessful, the digital asset of current Ethereum won't be affected. - We will announce separately regarding the airdrop support of potential ETHW chain asset. - In case we support airdrop, any asset deposited after the deposit/withdrawal suspension won't be included in snapshot.
