Despite students belief in the undetectability of AI usage, experts like Professor Phillip Dawson from Deakin University assert that closer scrutiny can reveal telltale signs of AI-generated content.

However, it falls short of identifying content generated or manipulated by AI. A spokeswoman from Sydney University emphasized the importance of human scrutiny in detecting fraud, citing linguistic inconsistencies, irrelevant content, false references, and deviation from the assignment prompt as red flags warranting investigation.
